How Respect is connected with Love
Love is one of the most wonderful feelings we experience!
Isn’t it? And when we are in love, we do forget everything and just wish to stay in that feeling. It has happened with all the people who ever fell in Love. It’s natural to forget ourselves when this happens. With changing priorities and the desire to fit in, we make ourselves busy. So busy that there is hardly any time left to take care of the most powerful thing which drives you irrespective of your physical capabilities our--“Mind.”
We have given so much importance to Love that somewhere we fail to remember, respect too is essential in a relationship. It won’t be wrong to say we can live without love, but we can't survive without respect.
Take an example of a couple where one partner is obsessive over the other partner. There is a lot of love in that relationship, but it lacks respect. The obsessive person wants their partner to be always there for them. And to achieve that, they make sure that the partner's confidence never rises up. They never want their partner to be independent, and hence respect for the partner's freedom and aspirations gets lost.
In the end, even love cease to exist in a relationship that has no room for respect. You will be able to relate to it as it is true for every relationship. Be it couples, parent-child, siblings, friends or any.
When Parents criticize their child all the time, it hits the confidence of the child. When they try to correct their child in front of people or raise their voice and, in some cases, punish the child physically, this would break the child's self-respect. Gradually the child starts moving away from the parents mentally and will be scared to confide in them.
Sibling relationship would become difficult when the elder one bosses around the younger. Instead of trying to be a friend, they avoid the younger one. They might also make fun of the younger one in front of their friends, and such acts like this would make the younger one feel low and disrespected. And we all know what the end of such relationships is. Once grown up, the younger one won't love the elder sibling's company and will avoid all instances of contact.
Add respect to any relationship, and you will see it blossom!
So before it gets too late, take out time for yourself. Analyze if you find yourselves in any such situation. Check if you are getting the due respect you deserve. If not, it’s time to sit and talk with the other half to let them know you need respect to survive in the relationship. If the other half is truly attached to you, they will understand and make the required changes.
We can spend our entire life with a partner who has respect for us, but not love. But we won't cross many milestones in a relationship that demeans us but holds love!
impressive writing, keep writing, cheers

ReplyDeleteNormally everyone knows what is respect but hardly anyone knows what love is..
ReplyDeleteLove has no individual existence , it's a combined name of respect, devotion and feeling of well-being .
So if we respect some one then it means we feel love for him. There is no love without respect . I appreciate you as you really understand this subject . Stay blessed
